QuicklyDoc came out of running operations, not out of a whiteboard.
Neil Wood spent about ten years in engineering and product management building enterprise software for higher education, then four years as CEO of a direct-to-consumer company built from nothing to seven figures a year. That company shipped lab testing supplies, and packing an order depended on the carrier, the destination, the temperature, the medium and the service. Keeping all those decision trees organized for every shift became a real problem.
The procedures that mattered most were the ones nobody ran often enough to remember. Every time one came up, it routed to the same two or three people - who were, by definition, the people with the least time to spare. Nobody was doing anything wrong. The knowledge just had nowhere to live except in someone's head.
That's the problem QuicklyDoc solves, and it's why the product starts with recordings and interviews instead of a blank page. Asking a senior person to write documentation is asking them to do a second job in a format they never chose. Asking them to show you how they do the job they already do well, and talk you through it, is a different request entirely.
Who we work with
Businesses where the most important work lives with a few experienced people: field service and trades, multi-location operators, manufacturers, and the training and operations leaders responsible for getting new people up to speed. We also work alongside the people around those businesses - buyers bringing a company into a platform, and the advisors helping an owner prepare to step back - when the question is the same one: can this business run without depending on one person?
Four of our first six engagements were businesses that had just changed hands or were preparing to, so that end of it is where we've spent the most time.
How we work
We capture the work where it happens, from the people who do it. We turn that into procedures, training and a searchable library the business owns outright, viewable on the phones you already carry.
The company
QuicklyDoc is a small software and consulting team based out of the Twin Cities, working both locally and nationally throughout the US. The founder is still in the work - on site, on calls, and close enough to every customer to hear what isn't working.
